Welcome to the 65% Plus website
Peterborough is a leading recycler among local authorities and aims to be the environment capital in the UK.
We are proud of our residents and their commitment to recycling. This partnership with the city council has made Peterborough a leading recycler.
Peterborough residents achieved an impressive 48 per cent recycling rate in 2008/2009.
So thank you to all.
The 65% Plus initiative reflects Peterborough City Council’s commitment to recycle, compost or recover more than 65 per cent of discarded household and garden materials and to use the remaining materials as a fuel to generate electricity and heat for local use.
This website describes how the 65% Plus initiative works and what you can do to help ensure that Peterborough achieves more than 65 per cent recycling by 2020.
